Stop Comment Spam On Your Blog
As most bloggers know comment spam is highly annoying and can make your blog look really unprofessional and look somewhat unmaintained.
There are a few hosted online services that can rid you of your spam, and when used with a good solid Captcha can almost eradicate it all, leaving you with actual responses and replies.
Below are a few great services that are free to use and do an incredible job with limited work for yourself.
Free but requires an API to use, can be used as a plugin or coded into your own site.
Again is API based but it has plugins for you to use.
Has free an paid options, the free package is quite generous.
Only for Movable Type and Wordpress at present, but other platforms to be covered soon.

Hi McBonio,
Akismet is really great. I haven’t tried the others, but I heard Defensio is good too. Do you know if Mollom can be used on Blogger?

There’s a few on the list I haven’t seen, I wish there were a better spam comment manager plugin to make going through spam comments much easier.
