A Few More Wordpress Security Plugins

We covered Wordpress security a few months ago here at WebM.ag and the article proved to be well received, so much so we have had a few requests to cover a few more top security plugins.

So here we are, here are 10 more Wordpress plugins to keep your blog safe, below each is a brief description of the plugins function, you can read more about each plugin on the author’s site.

WordPress Database Backup

Backs up the core tables in your Wordpress install as well as other tables of choice from the same database.

Login Encrypt

Uses DES and RSA to encrypt each user login and creates a unique key each time.

AskApache Password Protect

Protects your admin folder using .htaccess and requires an Apache host to run.

WordPress Guard Plugin

Adds additional security to your wp-admin folder by prompting anyone to enter a password who is trying to execute any php files inside the wp-admin folder.

Invisible Defender

This protects registration, login and comment forms by adding two extra hidden fields in your CSS.

CHAP Secure Login
This plugin secures authentication on your Wordpress install.

WP Antivirus
This plugin monitors malicious injections and notifies you of any potential attacks.

Blog Securify

Integrates a number of security patches into your Wordpress install, such as forcing users to login over secure channels and hiding database errors.

NoSpamNX

This took over from Yawasp (Yet Another Wordpress antispam plugin) and protects against automated comment spam.

WordPress File Monitor

Examines your blog for added/deleted/changed files and will send you an email if any are discovered.
