Website optimization in general is an important factor for any designer as page load times can be crucial, if your page takes 30 seconds to load users will not want to hang around.

What we are covering today is image optimization, basically image optimization is making your images smaller without losing quality so your page loads faster and reduces server load.

Great list of image optimization tools! I have bene using Smush.It before, but good to know there are several other services just like Smush it for compressing and optimizing/resizing images!
