Today WebM.ag is speaking with Nat Perel from Obox Design, Nat produces the daily From The Couch episodes, as well being the Obox photographer, Nat also likes a dabble in design. Nat is the third and final of three interviews from “The Perel Trio.”
WebM.ag: So Nat, Tell our readers a little about yourself and what you do?
NP: I’ve just finished my first year working with my brothers where I was the producer and editor of their online TV show.
WebM.ag: What would you say where the best and worse experiences of your career?
NP: Well, I’m not sure if I could say I have had best and worst experiences yet since I’ve only been a working person for 1 year.
WebM.ag: What is your role in Obox Design, and what do you enjoy most about working as part of “The Perel Trio”?
NP: I’m mainly part of the from the couch side of Obox Design, but hopefully next year I will be more involved in the design and helping David.
The best thing about this ‘trio’ we have is that we all seem to work very well together.

WebM.ag: What is the most frustrating thing about working in this field?
NP: Most probably the worst thing is when I have to render and upload a video. The amount of time I have had to repeat this process because one thing isn’t right or the internet has a little wobble its ridiculous.
WebM.ag: What project are you most proud of and why?
NP: It would probably be the one year anniversary video and the 100th episode video, so basically all the montage videos. They are exciting and fun to do. It’s always cool to go into the archives and find the funny moments my brothers have had.
WebM.ag: What is your favourite piece of art that inspires you and why?
NP: That’s really difficult to say. I wouldn’t say I have one specific art work that I love. The world is so full of things that can inspire me everyday. I enjoy going onto fffffound.com and looking at the things posted up there. Each thing is very individual and really inspiring.
WebM.ag: When speaking with a client for the first time, what are the key questions you ask?
NP: Hello, how are you?

WebM.ag: Is there anything about this profession you find intimidating?
NP: I’m so new to everything that I usually find it all very intimidating, but once I find my feet I get more comfortable.
WebM.ag: If for some reason the internet died tomorrow, what would you do for a living?
NP: I’d probably go study film and try get into the industry.
WebM.ag: What advice would you give to a newbie starting out in design?
NP: (See David’s answer!)
WebM.ag: Tell us something about you that you haven’t mentioned in an interview before?
NP: I used to do tap dancing.
WebM.ag: So what can we expect from you going into 2010 and beyond?
NP: You can expect more involvement in all side of Obox Design. I’m also trying to get more involved into making videos, not only for from the couch, but for other people. So hopefully that will bloom into something.
