Social media is probably one of the best ways to promote and drive traffic to your blog, with the numerous API’s and sharing features the social media outlets are releasing it makes your job that much easier.

Here we are concentrating on Facebook connection/sharing between your blog and Facebook, we have listed 8 great plugins which will allow easier content sharing, connections and logins as well as updating functions.

Add To Facebook

Adds a footer link to the pages and posts which allows you to share the content on Facebook.

Facebook Fan Box

Allows you to show your Facebook fans and updates in a box.

Fotobook

This will link your Facebook account to your blog and import photo albums so you can display on pages.

QuailPress

Allows integration of Facebook share which will enable your readers to share your articles on Facebook quickly and easily.

WP-FacebookConnect

This plugin allows you to add Facebook functionality to your blog, eg: sign on with your Facebook account.

Status Updater

This plugin will automatically update your Facebook/Myspace/Twitter with each new post that is published on your blog.

JanRain RPX

Once active it will allow logins via Facebook Connect, Google, Yahoo, Twitter etc…

Facebook Posted Items

This will fetch your updates from Facebook and display them unordered with links and comments intact.

    This is a great list, I think I’m going to do an episode of my podcast talking about these plugins. I especially like “JanRain RPX” if only it supported Twitter signon too, then it would be perfect.

    As somebody who hates Facebook, but fully understands how important it is, I love plugins that can automate Facebook updates from my Wordpress account.

    Good list!

    I also like Feed Facebook, Leave Facebook. It automatically puts an excerpt of your post on Facebook, with a link back to your main site.

    good post! I can not figure out a way to have facebook box on my main “PAGE” instead of having to have it as a widget in a side bar! Any information on that?
