I would very much like to win a copy of Digging Into WordPress. I teach web design and am looking not only to develop my ability in that area but am hoping to broaden the skills and career opportunities of my students. So much is required of young designers these days. Learning to develop for WP could give them the edge they deserve.

I’m designer and webdev who has been itching to dig into the guts of wordpress. I’ve looked at a tutorial here and a tutorial there but it would be great to have a single reference book to read throughly.

I played around with Wordpress on a few personal projects but know I’ve only scratch the surface of what it can do. With this book, knowing how well Chris explains things, I’ll be able to dig a little deeper.

Always follow the screencasts and articles on the site, as a beginner Chris has helped me develop my skills. I would like to build my own client base and work with the web more and feel that the book would help me achive my goals.

I remember when Chris posted a 3 section video tutorial on converting his psd to wordpress. Those videos were so influential that I went an got my domain and started building my own site. He is a really good teacher when it comes to web design. So I’m sure digging into wordpress would be an amazing resource for me, the one that I can go to anytime.

I would love to have a copy because I feel I have a lot to learn still about Wordpress. To me, it’s like the “Photoshop” of content management systems. It’s easy to get started and to get by, but there is endless amounts of things to learn.

I’ve been using Photoshop since version 3 and I feel I still haven’t scratched the surface. As for Wordpress, I’ve created a number of somewhat successful websites but I often am searching Google for solutions. Every project that involves Wordpress I find myself trying to do things I’ve never done with WP prior, so reading this book will definitely open my eyes to more possibilities!

I am getting into web design and am learning a lot of stuff.
I so far have learned HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and some basic MySQL.

I would like to learn more about design and coding, especially wordpress.

Our church is in need of a new website, so we decided to go the WordPress route…after several attempts, we have a mediocre site that has never been published to the server because the site just doesn’t work correctly. We’ve tried custom, manual coding to speed things up, eliminated bloated plugins, etc. It looks like we’ll have to start fresh again and it would be nice to have this book to help keep us focused on what works.
