The sidebar in your Wordpress install can often be underused by designers and bloggers, the sidebar can appear on all pages of your blog and many people do nothing or very little with it.

Most people will add some subscription options as well as archives, pages and perhaps a search bar, but there are plugins for so many things, such as: visitor maps, theme switchers, Twitter plugins, feeds, social addons and many many more.
