Hi Rosalind, I wouldn’t think the SEO would be effected by the plugins as the actual content is in the native language, so the spiders shouldn’t have much trouble in picking the content out.
(I might be wrong of course!!) haha!

I read that using translation services would interfere with SEO and search engine rankings. But, I would think that a small decrease in SEO ranking would be worth the new readers and subscribers that could possibly be attracted by having a good translation option available. Great roundup!

I tried WMPL and found it hard to use, I use qTranslate instead.

Cheers Richard, Yeah the classes are very handy in WPML, many people seem to opt for WPML as it does a superb job

Nice post. I used WPML on this site http://www.fuelpovertycharterwales.org.uk and it worked a treat. I especially like the fact that you can add css class for each language.
