10 Wordpress Plugins To Make Your Blog Multilingual
Making your blog or site multilingual used to be a difficult task, especially keeping on top of the multiple translations manually. Even built on a CMS like Wordpress it would still be a huge amount of work to do so the stand out solution to this is to let your readers change the language themselves using a method that will do it automatically.
I have gathered 10 great translation plugins for Wordpress below, they use different resources to translate and have different methods of doing so, instead of me trying to summarise each one (which most likely won’t answer the questions you have) I would recommend you have a read up on each to find the perfect one for your needs.

Nice post. I used WPML on this site http://www.fuelpovertycharterwales.org.uk and it worked a treat. I especially like the fact that you can add css class for each language.

Cheers Richard, Yeah the classes are very handy in WPML, many people seem to opt for WPML as it does a superb job

I tried WMPL and found it hard to use, I use qTranslate instead.

I read that using translation services would interfere with SEO and search engine rankings. But, I would think that a small decrease in SEO ranking would be worth the new readers and subscribers that could possibly be attracted by having a good translation option available. Great roundup!

Hi Rosalind, I wouldn’t think the SEO would be effected by the plugins as the actual content is in the native language, so the spiders shouldn’t have much trouble in picking the content out.
(I might be wrong of course!!) haha!
